Analog Film Lab · by Foto Americaine

Over 120 years of passion for photography

Analog Film Lab is part of Foto Americaine, a household name in The Hague and a photography business with a history dating back to the early twentieth century. Generations of photographers and families have entrusted their images to us.

From quick photographers to modern photo lab

The earliest records of Foto Americaine date back to 1912, when the American Automatic Photo Cy. opened as a quick photographer in Wagenstraat. In 1915, the business moved to Wagenstraat 10, an address that remained associated with Foto Americaine for decades. Over the years, the company grew from a portrait studio and quick photographer into a versatile photo specialty store and professional photo lab.

In 1986, Foto Americaine moved to Wagenstraat 41 in The Hague. From this location, the craft continues today, with respect for traditional photography and modern equipment for developing, scanning, and printing.

Analogue is in our DNA

While analogue photography disappeared for many businesses, we continued with it. In our own photo lab, we develop and digitize 35mm, 120, and various special film formats, among others. We process C-41 color film and black and white film and combine expertise with professional Fuji and Noritsu equipment.

Craftsmanship from generation to generation

Foto Americaine is currently continued as a family business. The knowledge of photography, printing, retouching, and analogue film is passed down from generation to generation. This long history means one thing above all for us: carefully handling images that are often irreplaceable for our customers.
