Foto Americaine / Analog Film Lab handles personal data with care. This page explains in plain language what data we use and why. The privacy policy included in our Shopify webshop also applies and provides the full privacy terms.

What data do we process?

Depending on your order or contact with us, we may process your name, address, email address, phone number, order details, payment confirmation and information you provide to our customer service team.

What do we use your data for?

• to fulfil orders, film developing, scans and other services;
• to arrange payments and delivery or collection;
• to inform you about your order and provide customer service;
• to prevent fraud and misuse and keep our webshop secure;
• to meet legal and administrative obligations;
• for marketing where a valid legal basis or consent exists.

Photographs, scans and negatives

For our photo lab services, images and digital scans may form part of the assignment. We use these solely to carry out, quality-check and handle your order, unless you expressly consent to another use. Do not share images with us unless you are authorised to commission the work.

Retention periods

We retain personal and administrative data no longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless a legal retention obligation requires a longer period. Digital photo files and scans are not a permanent backup service. Always keep your own copy of files you wish to retain.

Who do we share data with?

To operate the webshop and fulfil orders, data may be processed by service providers such as Shopify, payment providers, IT and hosting providers and carriers. They receive data only as needed for their role and must comply with applicable privacy rules.

Cookies and website use

Our webshop may use necessary, analytical and — where applicable and permitted — marketing cookies. You can manage available preferences through the cookie notice and your browser settings.

Your GDPR rights

Where the GDPR applies, you may request access to, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or portability of your personal data. In certain cases, you may also object to processing or withdraw consent previously given.

Privacy complaints

If you have a complaint about the processing of your personal data, please contact us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority, including the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens in the Netherlands.
