Frequently asked questions about film developing

Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about developing and scanning analogue film at Analog Film Lab in The Hague.

What types of film do you develop?

We develop 35mm, 120 and various special film formats, among others. We process C-41 colour film and black-and-white film. E-6 slide film is processed separately in batches.

When does processing of my film begin?

Processing time starts once your film has actually been received by us. Special processes, busy periods or additional technical checks may increase processing times.

How will I receive my scans?

If you have ordered scans, you will receive them digitally once developing and quality control have been completed. Keep your own backup copy of the files after receiving them.

Can I drop off my film 24/7?

Yes. Our 24/7 Film Dropbox at Foto Americaine lets you drop off film outside opening hours. Place your order online first and clearly write your name and order number on the packaging.

Can I have my negatives returned by post or collect them?

Where this option is available with your order, you can choose to have your negatives returned by post or collect them yourself from Foto Americaine / Analog Film Lab, Wagenstraat 41 in The Hague.

Why does E-6 slide film sometimes take longer?

E-6 slide film is processed in batches. Turnaround times may therefore be longer than for standard C-41 colour film or regular black-and-white film.

What if something seems wrong with my scans or film?

Contact us and, where possible, send sample scans. Keep your negatives, film roll or packaging and order details until we have assessed the complaint. Analogue film can also be affected by underexposure or overexposure, light leaks, age, storage or camera faults.

Where is Analog Film Lab located?

Analog Film Lab is part of Foto Americaine. You can find us at Wagenstraat 41, 2512 AP The Hague.

Do you offer film developing for businesses?

Yes. We offer B2B partnerships for camera shops, photographers, studios, educational institutions and other organisations, with agreements on volume, processing, scans, submission and returns.
